    Description

The four fountains of the village are built around at the four edges of the area and in the center the village is located. The residents of Visitsa kept their relationships with their relatives in Egypt, who were rich, and dealt with commerce, while during the summer months; they chose Visitsa for their holidays. These people made donations to the village and some of them were known due to the inscriptions on the walls that exist and remind of the donation. Some of them are:

    Sakelaris’ fountain

The inscription shows the donation in these words “In the memory of Nikolaos Papaioannis, his brother built this fountain on the 29th August 1909”.

    The Fountain of the Square

The fountain of the square has the inscription: “The renovation of the fountain was completed at the expense of the residing in Egypt brothers Konstantinos and Georgios Tsardinis in the memory of their parents in Visitsa on the 1st September 1931”.

    Mousga fountain

Freshen on the crystal water of the covered stone-built fountain “Mousga”, which was built in 1888. Do not forget to read the nice poem carved on the fountain.
