    Description

The Museum of Natural History should not be omitted from Volos, a city of art and civilization, a place of entertainment and training for young and older people. This museum is separated in three rooms: the room of Earth, Life and Human.

In the room of Earth, the evolution of our planet is presented. The visitors can see minerals and rocks while they will be informed about volcanoes, the lithospheres’ plates and earthquakes. Certainly, they will be impressed by the piece of meteorite exhibited in this room. In the room of Life, the birth and the evolution are presented through the fossils of invertebrate and vertebrate organisms. Moreover, in the room where the exhibits change and are constantly enriched the fossil of a tush and the leg of an elephant from Sesklo are hosted, which date two million years back!

In the third room of Human, our origins and evolution as a kind are revealed through the findings and replicas such as skulls of Homo Erectus who invented the tools and the fire- in Greece such a skull has been found, on the contrary to the Australian Ape who has been found only in Africa. The tour ends with the Homo Neanderthal, the wise man, that is to say us.
