    Description

    The Railway Station in Milies currently functions and it is the terminal station for the famous “Moutzouris”.  It is of Belgian construction. The wagons date back in 1883 and the engines in 1903, while it is Tubize. The station dates back in 1903 and its last route was Volos –Milies.

    The station is sightseeing, surrounded by rich vegetation and huge planes everywhere.  You can start from the buildings of the station and walk on the narrow railway lines (60 cm width, from the widest railway lines in Europe), on your right you will find, on a hill you will find the monument dedicated to the memory of the 33 executed people from Milies by the Nazis on the 4 October 1943. Afterwards, there is a stone arched bridge above the ravine that forms waterfalls among the big rocks, consisting a magical landscape. Walking for 10 to 15 minutes, you will find the extraordinary metal bridge De Kiriko.

    Tips

    When you reach the terminal station in Milies, you will have the chance to see the manual inversion of the old engine.
